Kolkata is already back in the top as the defending champions are once again showing why they won last season. However, this was a breath taking match and it took very long to see the ending of this match.
Batting first. Punjab got a good start as both of their openers got runs quite quickly. After that it was as if all the batsmen got good start. Although no one was able to reach 50 runs but almost everyone got to 20+ score in quick succession and that got Punjab to 183 runs in their 20 overs. The highest scorer in this match was Maxwell who got to his 43 in only 22 balls. Narine took 4 wickets by giving away 19 runs in his 4 overs.
Coming to bat, KKR didn’t get the flying start but their batsmen got euns on the board quickly and although they were loosing wickets at regular interval, they closed in on the target very quickly. russel’s 51 from 21 balls took them to home but things were not that easy. At one point they needed 1 run in 1 wickets and thanks to some careful batting they got there and won the match before the last ball needed to be bowled.
