For the first time in this years ICC World Cup 2015, England has shown their class in all 3 department in the field. They were amazing with the ball getting early wickets and putting pressure on their opponents. They fielded well as well and helped the bowlers. Although the match was disturbed by rain a couple of times. but England showed dominance throughout the entire match and didn’t let Afghanistan to do anything. Jordan and Bopara got 2 wickets each and by the time 37th over was going England already had 7 wickets in the bag and gave away 111 runs. Shafiqullah got the highest run and that was 30 runs.
On the other hand, England had to chase down 101 runs by 25 overs and they did it quite easily. They only lost 1 wicket by the time they reached that target within only 19 overs. Bell got to his half century in this match showing his form and Hales scored 37 as well. The only wicket taker for Afghanistan in this match was Hamid Hasan.
England’s hope of making it to the quarter-final ended when they lost Bangladesh in their last match by 15 match.
